2026 Hodgeman County Spelling Bee
We are so proud of our 28 contestants in grades 4-8, who competed in the 2026 Hodgeman County Spelling Bee on Friday, Feb. 13th. Alec Wilson (5th grade) won first place correctly spelling the word, “welterweight,” and was declared the 2026 Hodgeman County Champion. Lillian Selfridge (7th grade) was the runner-up and received second place. Alicia Palma received 3rd place, Myla Tarman received 4th place, Emma Paz received 5th place, and Quinn Appel received 6th place.
Alec will represent Hodgeman County in the 2026 Kansas Press Sunflower State Spelling Bee, at 9:00 AM, Saturday, March 2st, at Kansas Wesleyan University, in Salina, Kansas. Congratulations Alec!
